Adam Keeling is an energy-management and sustainability professional with more than 16 years of experience advancing energy efficiency and decarbonization across higher-education, utility, and commercial sectors. His work combines rigorous EM&V, building-systems expertise, and data-driven program design to deliver practical and verifiable
energy savings.
At Skytop Consulting, Adam leads EM&V and technical analysis for a wide range of utility-funded pilots and custom measures. His portfolio includes combined-heat-and-power (CHP) systems at health-care campuses, commercial new construction, and the development of savings documentation for the Michigan Energy Measures Database (MEMD). He is recognized for bridging field data, regulatory requirements, and engineering fundamentals to ensure credible savings claims and actionable guidance for utilities and implementers.
Before joining Skytop, Adam spent eight years with The University of Texas at Austin, Utilities & Energy Management, rising from Demand-Side Energy Manager to Assistant Director of Energy Management and later of Utilities Analytics. He built and led high- performing teams, developed the university’s Energy Hub data platform using AWS, SQL, and Python, and oversaw projects that achieved a sustained 1.5 percent annual
reduction in campus energy-use intensity (EUI) and more than $2 million in annual cost savings, while managing compliance with state energy mandates and supporting LEED and PEER certifications. Earlier in his career, Adam spent five years at CLEAResult, providing engineering
support for utility energy-efficiency programs nationwide, including savings-calculator development, field-data systems, and third-party EM&V coordination. He began his professional journey in sustainable construction and residential energy performance, experiences that shaped his practical, field-oriented approach to engineering solutions.
